Vinyasa Krama - Sun, Moon and Fire Technologies

The energies of the sun, moon and fire are timeless and integral to our evolution as humans. Consider these ancient technologies as they were harnessed in ways that contributed to our survival and eventual expansion. There are many systems of sequencing yoga asana classes - this is just one. In this 30-hour training, we will be inspired by the sun, moon, and fire as our guides to sequencing complete yoga asana classes.

We can even give you credit!  Grace is Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider and is proud to offer these as an option for yoga teachers who are also always a student.

Just for Funsies

What if I’m not a yoga teacher, would this still benefit me?

Absolutely! You can join in on all the fun (practices, lectures, discussions, goodies), and skip the other stuff (practice teachings, readings, and assignments).

  • Do I have to want to teach Yoga to take this training?
Nope! I didn't. But be warned, this training may light your soul on fire and you have no choice but to teach, and share with the world. Sorry, not sorry. :)
  • Will I be a RYT upon completion?
If you would like! RYT stands for "Registered Yoga Teacher" and is a designation offered by Yoga Alliance. This school is currently registered with Yoga Alliance and you will be eligible to register with them upon completion of this training, and your heart-work. This designation will give you access to YA's wealth of resources, discounts on products and insurance, and accountability in continuing your education. Some studios may require this registration, many do not. The choice is yours to make.
  • What's the difference between 200 hours, 300 hours, and 500 hours?
These designations are mostly due to Yoga Alliance's current standards. 200-hours is a foundational program and is the bare minimum required by Yoga Alliance in order to register. A 200-hour program is meant to prepare people to teach yoga asana classes. 300-hours is considered "advanced" training and when combined with the initial 200-hours once can call oneself a 500-hour teacher. All 300-hours must be completed at the same school.
  • What's up with Tiered Pricing aka Sliding Scale?
It is my heart’s most sincere desire to make this training as accessible as possible. AND I also honor my guest teachers, and the energy (time, money, emotional) put into their area of expertise, combined with what it takes to present at the level of a teacher training. A sliding scale model operates from a place of trust, community, equity, and honesty. I trust you to choose the best price that is appropriate for you. The current standard price for a 200-hour Yoga teacher training is between $2800-$3500 which automatically creates boundaries, and exclusion, for some. Sliding scale creates opportunity for those who may not otherwise be able to join, while retaining the value of the training and teachers; thus challenging the industry’s standard and capitalistic norms. This model invites us to take inventory of our personal resources, and examine our personal intersectionality and levels of privilege.
  • Are there payment plans available?
You bet! Generally speaking, we can set up payment plans in 3 installments, 6-months or 12-months. And nope! No extra fees for payment plans or late payments. I'm open to whatever works, let's chat and find a plan that feels good.
  • So there are virtual AND in-person sessions?
There sure are! Every Friday night session will be virtual. Wednesday evenings for the 300-hour will also be virtual. This gives us more flexibility, and space in the world. Friday nights can feel like a lot to juggle, with travel times and traffic considered. Stay home, and let's connect virtually. And 9pm sometimes feels real late. :) Some of the guest teachers will be Zoom-ing in as well! And sometimes life happens so if you need to stay home for a session, you can always join in virtually. Side note: For some 300-hour modules - everything will be virtual, and for others everything will be in-person. The majority of the 300-hour modules will have options for either virtual or in-person. It will be clear in the individual modules which formats are available. At this time, there is no completely virtual option for the 200-hour.
  • Will the sessions be recorded?
For the most part, yes! Some guest teachers may opt to NOT record, and I always offer that to them. Technology may also get in the way at times. But ultimately, YES! I will make every effort to record, and share, all the sessions. These sessions will be uploaded, and live for a year, on a google drive. You will be able to download these as you like.
  • How much "other" time is required?"
In accordance with Yoga Alliance's current standards, we will have 200+ face-to-face time. This will include virtual, and in-person (if you choose), and will include time with myself, guest teachers, and your group. We will have 20ish hours of outside assignments, which include reading books (and writing book reports), listening to podcasts, sequencing assignments, and practice teaching. Everything will be made super clear in our first few meetings as we discuss the expectations. All assignments will be tracked via a spreadsheet, and shared with you so you always know where you stand.
  • Do I need to be able to do a headstand (or any other pose) to join?
Nope! Asana is just one limb of a beautiful 8-limbed system of Yoga. We will go over foundation, and functional alignment of many poses. There will never be a requirement to "perform" any asanas are prerequisites. We do a fair amount of sitting, so be prepared to support to your seat for steadiness and ease.
  • What if I miss a session, or a day?"
Ideally, students will be able to attend at least 6 of the 9 weekends - but hopefully all 9!! AND life totally happens so don't worry, we can work it out! Never fear! We will work it out! Most sessions will be recorded and uploaded, so you can easily watch later. Any assignments, or live teachings, will need to be worked out separately. (Some programs charge extra $$ for missed sessions - we aim to NOT have extra expenses while also making sure you have everything you need)
