🙋🏼♀️ This is an Introduction Post 🙋🏼♀️
At the encouragement of my mentor Tristan Katz I did some updating to my website, and also created space for new magic that’s coming soon ✨
Which of course brings up the dreaded Bio/About Me section…ugh
Tbh…I’ve never encountered anyone who actually enjoyed writing about themselves in this manner.
The cool thing is that none of is HAS to be permanent 🎉
So here it goes:
Hello Friends! I'm Grace Millsap (she/her), and I'm currently located in Charlotte, NC (Catawba and Sugaree land). My passions are rooted in science and equality, which inform my teaching of Yoga, and how I show up in the world. I spent 5 years in the fast-paced, and high-pressure, scientist world where I conducted research for UNC-Chapel Hill in the intersecting fields of nutrition, genetics, and neuroscience.
I study, and teach, from a long lineage that believes that life is inherently beautiful, and that the path of Yoga is a tool set to better navigate the many twists and turns. Specifically, from the Tantra and Himalayan Traditions of Sri Vidya. A Yoga practice is 100% steeped in Social Justice, and I am grateful for every teacher I've encountered.

Social Location
Wait, what's a social location?
Ask the experts: Inclusion and Diversity Committee Report
I am a white, able-bodied, cis-female born to middle-class parents, who both love me. These privileges granted me access to earning 2 college degrees: psychology + biology. Which allowed me to position myself in place to afford multiple Yoga Teacher Trainings, Ayurveda certifications, and follow up training hours. While my life has been far from easy, these points of privilege granted me access to power, knowledge, and resources.
Sankalpa
Defined:
From the Sanskrit words Sat (highest truth) and kalpa (vow). Sankalpa is commitment we make to support our highest truth; statement you can call upon to remind you of your true nature and guide your choices. A promise one makes to oneself.
My personal Sankalpa:
My daily life fuels my heart, soul, and bank account.
My work and life support liberation and freedom for all.
I deserve my own self-love, and nurturance.
I am safe, and protected.
The Universe f*cking loves me!
I love this process of evolving, updating my story, and being in the process.
Who knows who I will be next year?!
